Coded In Our Blood by Pranita Patel If we were to travel back in time we would recognize members of our family though shorter, stooped, and hairier, in Australopithecus, Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus, as we would today if we came upon a large silverback gorilla playing games with his children in a dense jungle in Africa. Without words, as if coded in our blood, we would discern the tender caress, behold the gaze of love. These are our ancestral gifts, linking past to present, beyond the bridge of our noses, the tint of our skin, or the set of our jaw.
