Summer Rays

Image
The sun rides high, long towards the horizon The mind slips between rays, into shadows of a wild time We sing in time with bees, lighting bugs and butterflies Deer come down from high slopes for food and water Each day we drink from the nectar of life A prism of colors, lightening our way The mind scurries and jolts and in the afternoon sun Stops long enough for bliss to enter through silent emptiness The summer light is bright and clear The warmth a blanket sometimes to heavy and hot We remove our cloaks, bare our skins Are touched by waves of light, penetrating through to the deepest cells Our bodies glow with light and more light.
